Successive Triennial Conferences have provided an important space for the participation of civil society organisations. For the 13th Triennial Conference, the We Rise Coalition sought to support and encourage the participation of feminists and women’s human rights defenders to ensure their priorities and concern are heard, with a particular focus on economic rights, human rights of women and girls throughout their life cycle, and ensuring substantive participation of diverse Pacific women from marginalised groups, and urban poor, rural and remote communities.
Participant attendance was made possible through funding support from UN Women (Fiji Multi-Country Office); and the Australian Government through the Pacific Women Shaping Pacific Development Program and their support of the We Rise 2 program, implemented by the We Rise Coalition.
The We Rise Coalition invited applications for sponsorship from feminist and women’s human rights defenders across the Pacific region to attend. Successful, candidates were supported by The Coalition covering all travel, accommodation, registration fees and meal costs. View the Outcome Statements from the Conference below.
