 100 years, 100 trees, 100 women

The Fiji Women’s Right Movement (FWRM) Green Girls, including 100 women volunteers, will today plant 100 trees to celebrate the 100th year of the International Women’s Day!

“With the support of the British High Commission, FWRM has worked with a group of young girls to create more awareness on the linkages between Gender and the Environment”, said FWRM Executive Director Virisila Buadromo.

“These environment enthusiasts helped set up the nursery housing 100 seedlings and also helped nurture them for a month. This afternoon, these seedlings will be planted at the Umaria Park and along the FBD Foreshore in Suva.”
